Spindle Boxes 0-4 and 5-9
The spindle boxes develop early counting skills and develop the association between quantity and the number symbols 0-9. Importantly, they teach the concept of zero.
The wooden boxes have ten numbered compartments into which the child counts the corresponding number of tactile wooden spindles.
Many people prefer the split spindle boxes as the numbers 0-4 can be isolated and taught first. They are also easier for a child to carry.
45 shaped wooden spindles (not plain rods) are NOT supplied in the separate wooden box shown.
