This set is used to teach the child how to recognise birds by their distinctive shapes, markings and colours.
Outlines are included for the child to colour, this activity encourages close observation.
The labelled picture cards are presented to the child and the component parts are named and discussed. Children match the picture cards and then the word cards to the first row of cards. A three period lesson can be given to teach the names if appropriate.
