Product Description

Metal mini weights for scales with stand

A solid beech wood block containing two of each of 4 metal weights ranging from 5g to 50g.

  1. Introduction to the Materials: Introduce the weights to the child and explain that they are tools used for measuring weight. Show the child how to handle the weights carefully and how to place them on the scale.

  2. Matching Weights: Start with a set of matching weights that vary in size and weight. Show the child how to place one weight on the scale and balance it out with another weight of the same size. Encourage the child to match the weights and balance them out on the scale.

  3. Comparing Weights: Introduce different weights that vary in size and weight. Have the child compare the weights by placing them on the scale and observing which one is heavier or lighter. Encourage the child to experiment with different combinations of weights.

  4. Ordering Weights: Provide the child with a set of weights that vary in size and weight. Ask the child to order the weights from lightest to heaviest, or heaviest to lightest. This activity helps to reinforce the concept of weight and measurement and the vocabulary involved.

  5. Measuring Objects: Provide the child with a variety of objects of different weights and sizes. Ask the child to use the weights to measure the weight of the objects. Encourage the child to experiment with different combinations of weights to find the weight of each object.

WARNING: Not suitable for 0-3 years - Small Parts: Choking hazard.
