Greek Small Movable Alphabet

A set of painted wooden letters for the Greek alphabet (10 of each blue vowel and 10 of each red consonant) for word building. The letters are stored alphabetically in a box with a lid.

These letters are used extensively in mathematical and scientific work in later school years so are important for a child to recognise.

The Fourth Great Lesson is called 'The Story of Communication with Signs' or 'The Srory of Writing' and starts by talking about the Egyptians who used symbols in order to communicate, moving on to different types of alphabets and writing materials including the Greek alphabet.

ELG: Reading: children read and understand simple sentences. They use phonic knowledge to decode regular words and read them aloud accurately. They also read some common irregular words. They demonstrate understanding when talking with others about what they have read.

Writing: children use their phonic knowledge to write words in ways which match their spoken sounds. They also write some irregular common words. They write simple sentences which can be read by themselves and others. Some words are spelt correctly and others are phonetically plausible.

WARNING: Not suitable for 0-3 years - Small Parts: Choking hazard.
