Individual set of small wooden place value number cards in a wooden storage tray: (1-9999). The number cards differ in length and colour depending on their value and are combined to show the hierarchical nature of the decimal system. They are colour coded to match the stamp game.

By storing the cards in configured boxes, it is much easier to find the correct card.

Initially just one of each of the units, tens, hundreds and thousands are presented to the child in a Three Period Lesson. Once the child is familiar with their relative values the child learns to count using the beads. The material shows how the decimal system changes hierarchy at 9, so children learn that after 9 units the next number is 1 ten which is made up of ten units etc.
